50 years ago, on July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin landed on the moon. The third man, Michael Collins, remained in lunar orbit. For the first time, humanity set foot on another celestial body and left footprints on it.
But not only scientific efforts and longings were inspired by the fascinati- on of space in the second half of the 20th century. The early history of video games with its technical limitations is also devoted to the Final Frontier.

We celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing with a replica of Atari‘s arcade classic Lunar Lander from 1979.
Lunar Lander is the first vector arcade machine by Atari and has been captivating for 40 years with its razor-sharp, timeless elegance.
The arcade cabinet, of which a total of 4830 copies were sold, paved the way for later arcade classics such as Asteroids from the same year. Lunar Lander and Asteroids also became the first copyrighted games in 1980.
